We have a thriving junior section here at Enville. Competitions run throughout the school holidays with something for all abilities. In the Summer of 2019 we ran the England Golf Girls Golf Rocks initiative with great success and hopefully this will run again in Summer 2020. We have girls and boys of all abilities and everyone is made very welcome at Enville. We provide a safe and friendly environment which encourages a love of the sport.

Coaching sessions for non-members/members take place from 10th March to October every Saturday from 9.00am (be there a little earlier if this is your first lesson). Contact Richard Copsey on 01384 872585 for more information and to book your place. Total beginners welcome. Equipment can be provided. Age limits 5 years to 15 years.

Coaching session on the Practice Ground. Meet outside the Professional Shop from 8.50am. We have a small pavilion with seating and a hot/cold drinks machine available for parents. A great way to discover golf!

Message from the Junior Captain

I am delighted to have been elected as Junior Captain of Enville Golf Club, in spite of these strange times.

I started playing golf at the age of 8 at Himley golf course and was coached by Mark Sparrow. Ever since I started playing I wanted to have a handicap of scratch or better. I knew that this would entail a lot of hard work and dedication to the game and there have been many ups and downs over the years but having the ability to push on through the hard times and come out stronger and better the other side is what makes your handicap come down. I started to play in golf competitions at the age of 10 at Himley and moved to Halfpenny green at the age of 12. I only played club competitions up until the age of 13 which is when I started to play in county events and open competitions.

I joined Enville Golf Club in 2016 and was able to fully appreciate the 2 lovely courses and practice facilities . Soon my handicap came flying down going from 14 to 5 in a single year. Over the next 2 years I slowly chipped away at my handicap playing in events all over the country and got down to scratch in 2018.

Going to university in America has always been a goal of mine since I started to play competitive golf, and with the help of Chris and Henry at Study and Play America and constant support from my coach Mark Sparrow and my family, I achieved this goal. I will be continuing my golfing career at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in August this year. Before then I hope I that we will all have the opportunity to play golf soon and I can fulfil some of my duties as Junior Captain

Enville Girls Golf (EGG) again at Enville in 2020!

This year Enville have decided to run the very successful girls golf programme but the programme will be of their own design.

Madam Captain Donna Wharton and Professional Rich Copsey will be inviting girls from around the local area to come and have a go at golf using the fantastic practice facilities at Enville Golf Club.

Both new girls and those from last year’s programme will be eligible to join, signing up for a 6 week coaching course which will run from Saturday 2nd May through to July when they will have a chance to play the real game on a few holes on our Championship course on Tuesday 7th July. Enville Board have agreed to fund part of the cost which mean we can offer the programme at a reduced cost of £20 per participant, sign up will be through the club.
